Isaac “Redd” Holt is best known for his drumming with the Ramsey Lewis Trio–that’s Redd playing drums on the classic LP “The In Crowd,” which became a huge commercial success. After his time with Ramsey Lewis, he went on to form the influential jazz/funk outfit, Young Holt Unlimited, with whom he recorded the timeless single, “Soulful Strut.” Holt passed away on May 23, 2023 at the age of 91.
