Zoot Sims

When one talks about their favorite saxophonists, the name Zoot Sims figures prominently on most lists.  After all, Zoot Sims was a sort of tasteful master of the bop lexicon, an agile, hard-swinging player who seemed at ease amongst giants.  His time spent with fellow saxophonist Al Cohn yeilded some truly beautiful material.

We'll be paying tribute to a musician's musician this week in our artist spotlight.  Zoot Sims' large body of work is a wonderful thing to behold, and the wonderful settings he played in (and stellar players he played with) will make for a truly enjoyable listening experience.
